Tower Wars
Privacy policy
Tower Wars has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no chat. This page sets out the little it does handle, and why.
Last updated 13 October 2026. This covers the Tower Wars iPad app, including test builds through TestFlight, and this website.
Who we are
Tower Wars is made by Buusmann. For anything about your privacy, email hello@towerwars.app.
Playing against bots
Offline matches stay on your iPad. Nothing about them is sent anywhere.
The game saves your settings (difficulty and sound) and a short summary after each match (races, difficulty, winner, lives and upgrade choices) on your iPad. These are never uploaded, and they're removed when you delete the app.
Playing online
Tower Wars connects to our game server only when you create or join a room. While you play, the server receives:
- your automatic player name, such as Player4821. The game makes it up; it isn't your name or your device's name;
- a random ID the game creates on your iPad the first time you play online, so you can get back into a room if the connection drops;
- the room code, your moves in the match, and the game's version;
- your IP address, as with any internet connection.
Rooms exist only in the server's memory, and they're gone ten minutes after the last player leaves. We don't keep match results on the server.
The server writes a log so we can find and fix problems. The log holds room codes, player names as they join and leave, and each match's result (winner, placings, round and lives). Your IP address appears only if you trip a rate limit, which protects the server from abuse. The random ID isn't logged. The log deletes its oldest entries automatically as it fills up.
Your iPad also keeps a short record of each online match (room code, seat, result and connection statistics). It's never uploaded, and it's removed when you delete the app.
What we don't do
- No accounts, sign-in or email address needed to play.
- No text or voice chat, direct messages, profiles or player-written content.
- No advertising, and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No analytics or crash-reporting services in the game. Unity's analytics and diagnostics are switched off.
- No selling or sharing of your information.
Services in between
- Apple: the App Store and TestFlight handle downloads, and TestFlight collects crash reports and any feedback you choose to send. Apple's own privacy policy covers those.
- Tailscale: carries the encrypted connection to our game server. It can't read the game traffic.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and forwards email sent to hello@towerwars.app.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics, trackers or forms, and loads nothing from other websites. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site.
Children
Tower Wars doesn't ask for anyone's age, name or contact details, and players can't talk to each other in the game. Online play involves only the automatic details described above.
Your choices and rights
You can play entirely offline, and deleting the app removes everything the game stored on your iPad. If you'd like to see or delete anything in our server log, email hello@towerwars.app with your player name and roughly when you played, and we'll take care of it. If you're in the UK or the EU, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that's the ICO.
Changes
If the game starts handling anything new, for example matchmaking or Game Center, we'll update this page before that ships and change the date at the top.
